My First Week with Njoi in Trujillo, Honduras

You just gotta LOVE a job like this! I am working for an amazing group of people as they develop their first luxurious and tranquil residential development! As new clients arrive in Honduras, I will be there to greet them at the airport, transport them to Trujillo and welcome them to paradise!
I had a great first week with my friend, and one of the owners, Lucia Todos, and two wonderful clients from Edmonton, Allen and Renee! Edwin, whose family owns and operates Campamento Hotel and Restaurant here in Trujillo, was also with us as a guide on many excursions.
Allen and Renee were such a treat to be around, so positive and adventurous! We toured them around the development and their lot, went snorkling, hiked to the waterfalls, shopping at the local markets and walked through the historic fort in downtown Trujillo! They tried all the local food fare, from baleadas to whole fried fish, and every wonderful fruit in the market! Such a great couple and so happy to have them as part of this community!

Hiking and waterfalls....

These amazing waterfalls are approximately 30 minutes outside of Trujillo. After a short hike, you can cool off in the refreshing pools!

Handmade in Honduras

Spent the afternoon shopping with my friend and her grandchildren at the Made in Honduras store. Its a unique gift shop where all the items are handmade locally. You can find everything from jewelry to wall hangings, handbags to soft cloth dolls, all one of a kind!

Best Sunsets....

The most beautiful sunsets in the world!

Semana Santa-Holy Week

Semana Santa or Holy Week....a very big holiday for Central America! The streets of Trujillo were bustling with vendors and traditional Honduran cuisine stands.  My favorite part was the ¨The Laying of the Carpet¨. Men and women stay up all night on Good Friday to have these colorful displays in front of the church for morning mass! And these fantastic works of art are made of colored saw dust!!!

My First Post- Welcome to Paradise!

This is my first post on my new blog and I just wanted to share my morning with you! I started my day paddle boarding with my good friends, Linda and Carol. It´s absolutely amazing...gliding over the emerald waters, sun glistening off the water...ah...it´s truly paradise. Today we saw 2 sting rays, a large brown one and a small spotted one! And of course, the ¨flying fish¨ that skip across the water like a shiny silver dollars! When I´m out on the water, gazing at the endless blue sea on one side and the lush green mountains on the other, I can´t believe I am so lucky to live here now!
